Announcing the new BCS Women in Cardiology Committee Co-Chairs
We are delighted to announce the new leadership team for Women in Cardiology: Dr Fozia Ahmed (Manchester) and Dr Tracey Keteepe-Arachi (Oxford).
Dr Ahmed is a Consultant Cardiologist and clinical academic in Manchester specialising in heart failure and cardiac devices, with national and international leadership roles in cardiovascular research and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. Her work focuses on inclusive research, heart failure innovation and improving patient outcomes through redesigned care pathways.
Dr Keteepe-Arachi is a Consultant Cardiologist in inherited cardiac conditions in Oxford with specialist interests in sports cardiology and cardiovascular disease in women. Alongside her clinical practice, she has extensive experience in medical leadership, advanced cardiovascular imaging and medical education, with a strong commitment to delivering patient-centred care and training the next generation of cardiologists.
As part of this new chapter for WiC, the role will be undertaken as a pilot job-share arrangement — an exciting opportunity to explore more flexible and sustainable leadership models within Cardiology.
Women in Cardiology continues to grow as a community focused on mentorship, visibility, education, advocacy and supporting colleagues across all career stages. We are excited to see the network continue to evolve under their leadership.
We look forward to sharing more in the coming months.
